Dr. Chien-Chun Chang has an extensive portfolio of research publications, particularly focusing on spine surgery with computer-assisted for patients with degenerative kyphosis. By utilizing O-arm 3D spinal navigation, excessive damage to bone and soft tissue can be minimized, resulting in smaller postoperative wounds and shorter hospital stays.

Additionally, when performing high-angle scoliosis osteotomy using O-arm 3D spine navigation combined with an ultrasonic bone scalpel, proficient execution and accurate application of the navigation system have allowed successful blood loss control to approximately 600 mL, with an average Cobb angle correction rate of 42.50%. This innovative surgical approach reduces the risk of injury to surrounding major blood vessels and organs while ensuring precise and effective scoliosis correction.

Furthermore, in 2023, Dr. Chang served as the corresponding author and led the Minimally Invasive Spine and Joint Center team at Taichung Tzu Chi Hospital in publishing an evidence-based medicine research paper. (2021 World Neurosurg. IF: 2.21)
