Endoscopic Spine Surgery—Chronic Lumbar Disc Pain in the Elderly

Age Is Not a Barrier: Small Incision, Big Results
A 70-year-old patient had been living with chronic lower back pain caused by a herniated lumbar disc (HIVD), resulting in nerve compression, difficulty walking, and disrupted sleep. After evaluation, the patient underwent 3D computer-assisted minimally invasive endoscopic surgery.
Using just a 1 cm incision, the herniated disc compressing the nerve was precisely removed, sparing surrounding muscles and nerves. The patient was able to get out of bed the same day and was discharged the next. Following surgery, the patient regained the ability to walk 2 kilometers daily, expressing gratitude for this life-changing procedure.
