Scoliosis Correction—Single-Stage Correction of Severe 126-Degree Scoliosis
One-Time Correction for Severe Scoliosis
A 26-year-old patient was diagnosed with severe scoliosis, with a curvature angle of 126 degrees. The condition had been detected since childhood, but concerns about traditional spinal surgery led to years of postponement. Prolonged back pain and worsening symptoms, including shortness of breath during walking and speaking, impaired cardiopulmonary function, and leg length discrepancy, significantly diminished her quality of life. Following a thorough medical assessment, the patient underwent computer-assisted scoliosis correction surgery. The procedure achieved a one-time correction success, with a postoperative correction rate exceeding 80%.
